Lead the Christchurch service division of a growing New Zealand refrigeration specialist.

EcoChill is a nationally recognised refrigeration and HVAC business delivering high quality service, maintenance, and technical solutions across industrial and commercial sites. We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to take full ownership of branch service operations, team performance, and commercial outcomes.

This is a senior leadership role with real accountability and influence.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the Christchurch service delivery and function. You will lead the team, drive safety and quality standards, manage financial performance, and strengthen key client relationships.

You will sit within the leadership structure and contribute to strategic direction while ensuring day to day operations run efficiently, profitably, and safely.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Leadership

• Oversee scheduling, forward planning, and resource allocation

• Ensure jobs are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specifications

• Manage work in progress and ensure accurate documentation and reporting

Commercial Performance

• Own and manage the service profitability

• Drive profitability through effective cost control and productivity management

• Identify growth opportunities and pursue new service work

Health & Safety

• Lead a strong safety-first culture across all service activities

• Ensure compliance with company, industry, and legislative standards

• Support incident management, investigations, and continuous improvement

People Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop technicians and apprentices

• Drive accountability, performance, and team cohesion

• Support training, onboarding, and long term capability development

Client Relationships

• Maintain and grow strong customer relationships

• Prepare and review quotes, ensuring competitive and commercially sound pricing

• Ensure service excellence and consistent communication with clients

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a refrigeration service environment

• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams

• Strong commercial acumen with profit & loss reporting exposure

• Ability to make clear decisions and drive performance outcomes

• Advanced technical knowledge and the ability to mentor others

• High level of professionalism and discretion

• Full, clean New Zealand driver licence
